Conjure Collective (Est. 2023) is a Pop-Up NYC + North Carolina–based arts collective devoted to gathering artists and audiences through seasonal, collaborative, and multidisciplinary experiences. We curate one-of-a-kind live performances, workshops, and events that center experimentation, embodiment, and exchange—offering a platform for emerging and independent artists, musicians, dancers, and creatives alike.
Our offerings range from movement and creative craft workshops to unique evening performances, often unfolding in unconventional, pop-up spaces. From SoHo living rooms and Chinatown co-working hubs to artist-run venues such as Arts On Site and collaborations with event partners like Posh NYC, we seek spaces that invite closeness and curiosity.
At our core, Conjure Collective is about community. We gather with intention to create ephemeral, immersive experiences that blur disciplines, dissolve hierarchies, and reimagine where and how art can live—outside traditional stages and in shared spaces.

Our Story:
Conjure Collective was founded in late 2023 by twin sisters Anabelle and Rainey Scarborough, born from a simple desire: to gather their friends in one room and create together. What began as a small idea quickly became an evening of DIY art—live performance, movement, music, and shared presence.
The first gathering took place in a small living room of a Soho artist, where doors were opened to friends, friends-of-friends, professional performers, and first-time artists alike—anyone seeking a supportive space to create, share, and be seen. From this spirit of openness and invitation, Conjure Collective emerged.
Since its inception, Conjure has continued to produce and curate performances in unique, nontraditional spaces, always rooted in the same communal ethos. In 2025, the collective expanded to include workshops, offering a way for artists to connect, create, and grow together. Many workshop participants have gone on to perform in subsequent shows, blurring the line between audience and artist. Attendees are encouraged not only to witness, but to return as collaborators themselves.
Conjure continues to evolve beyond its New York City origins. With Anabelle now based in Durham, North Carolina, and Rainey remaining in NYC, the sisters produce and curate across regions. As founders and directors, they guide the collective while remaining equal participants within it—continually welcoming artists, creating opportunities, and holding space for collaboration, experimentation, and shared artistic practice
